Yesterday, US President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened at Modi’s official residence in New Delhi. In an atmosphere thick with camaraderie, they delved deep into avenues to intensify the economic and societal bonds between their nations. Following their discourse, Modi took to social media, emphasizing the productivity of their discussions and his optimism for the blossoming relationship to fortify global prosperity.

Further solidifying the burgeoning alliance, a joint statement emerged post-meeting, spotlighting the two nations’ intention to revamp the India-U.S. Strategic Partnership. Both leaders underlined the significance of the Quad, championing its role in buttressing a free, inclusive, and resilient Indo-Pacific. Biden’s appreciation for India’s G20 Presidency was evident, commending its contribution to the G20’s pivotal resolutions.

Their collective faith in the New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit was palpable, as they believed it would propel sustainable development, amplify multilateral cooperation, and magnify the influence of multilateral development banks. Biden’s support for India’s enhanced role in global governance was clear. He reiterated backing India’s quest for a permanent seat in a reformed UN Security Council and celebrated its candidacy for a non-permanent seat for 2028-29.

Moreover, Biden expressed admiration for India’s recent aerospace achievements, applauding Chandrayaan-3’s monumental lunar landing and the launch of the nation’s pioneering solar mission, Aditya-L1. The White House subsequently articulated the duo’s enthusiasm for the expanding multi-institutional academic and educational collaborations.

The joint commitment from both administrations was to endorse policies and tailor regulations, fostering amplified technological sharing, co-development, and co-production synergies spanning the industries, governments, and academia of both countries. Under Modi’s leadership, India has garnered recognition as a rising global powerhouse, joining the elite circle of the world’s top five economies.

Emblematic of a nation reborn, India under Modi’s guidance has witnessed unparalleled growth across the board. This upsurge in economic, technological, and geopolitical arenas is seen by many as a stark contrast to the stagnation experienced during the seven-decade reign of the Congress. Modi’s forward-thinking policies have undoubtedly carved a prominent space for India on the world map.
